Project Information

We're renewing the existing paved footpath on the eastern side of Grand Boulevard, Seaford Rise, between Chiton Avenue and the shared use path near the Seaford Rise Kindergarten.

There are a number of pavers in the area which have been cracked and/or lifted through the root movement of the adjacent London Plane trees, and the majority of the timber sleeper retaining walls have begun to fail. The footpath width does also not meet the current Council service levels for a collector road.

These issues have been reported to Council by residents living adjacent to the site, the broader community, and our civil maintenance team.

Project scope

The project scope includes:

• Replacement of the existing paved footpath with a 1.5metre wide paved path
• Replacement of the timber sleeping retaining walls with concrete sleeper and rolled steel joist retaining walls
• Replacing the London Plane trees with Tuckeroo trees. The London Plane trees require replacement due to the significant root systems causing ongoing damage to Council infrastructure.
