Exciting News! The playground is now open to the public
Background
Works to upgrade the Bakers Green Reserve were delayed due to the site being too wet. There is only one access to the site for heavy vehicles which is from States Road. This access, as well as the remainder of the park, has been too wet for safe access. While waiting for the site to dry the contractor engaged in other works, including other council projects.
The contractor has since returned to the site and recommenced works. We estimate that construction will now be completed by the end of April 2022.
Your Say
Thank you to everyone who provided feedback and to those residents who joined us at our community information drop in session. The feedback we received demonstrated local community support for the upgrade.
Some changes to the upgrade in response to community feedback include:
Path network to follow around irrigated turf to form a circuit
The traffic concerns raised by residents surrounding speeding vehicles and parking has been allocated to our traffic engineers who are investigating the issue.
