The State Government recently sought feedback from South Australian's to create the Creative Industries Sector Strategy; a 10 year plan to support the growth of the creative industries in SA.

BACKGROUND

Growth State: our plan for prosperity is the State Government’s plan to promote industry growth. Key sectors with strong growth prospects have been identified as part of this plan, including the creative industries.

They invited representatives of the following sectors to explore the opportunities and challenges associated with their sectors and to contribute to Growth State by being part of the development of an industry-led sector strategy:

  • Advertising
  • Broadcasting: TV and Radio
  • Craft
  • Design: Architecture, Fashion, Graphic and Web
  • Festivals
  • Literature and Publishing
  • Music
  • Performing Arts
  • Screen Production: TV, Film, post-production, digital and visual effects (PDV) and Game Development
  • Visual Arts and Photography

Council supported the process by hosting a roundtable discussion targeted at representatives from across all sectors of the Creative Industries who live and work in the City of Onkaparinga.
