Community Engagement

Thank you to everyone who attended the community information drop-in session held at Dinton Farm reserve on Saturday 19 May and to those who provided feedback on the draft concept plan through our survey.

Background

In 2016, Council endorsed the provision of three dog parks within the City of Onkaparinga. Two have been successfully established, one in Flagstaff Hill and one in Aldinga Beach.

Dinton Farm Reserve, located at the corner of Melsetter Road and Main South Road Huntfield Heights, was been chosen as the third dog park location.

Dinton Farm Reserve was identified as a suitable location as it is easily accessible by adjacent main roads and already has suitable off-street parking. The reserve is open and offers good surveillance from the road and pathway networks. In conjunction with the proposed dog park, a provision for a new playground has been included. This will include a relocation of the playground, new pathways, a picnic area, and additional seating and shelter.
