Council has approved the Community Plan 2030
Hi Everyone,
I’m pleased to say Council has approved our new Community Plan 2030. The plan guides our work, making sure we focus on what matters most and what will best serve our communities now and into the future. You can also view the Community Plan 2030 - On a Page.
The Community Plan 2030 builds on the strengths of our previous plan (Onkaparinga 2035) and includes new features such as:
Adding ‘performance’ to our themes - people, place, prosperity and performance
A simpler structure highlighting 16 outcomes we want to achieve over the next 10 years
Six focus outcomes that elected members have prioritised as needing extra attention over the next four year
A plan-on-a-page version that summarises the plan
Easy read and accessible versions (currently under development).
Developing the Community Plan 2030 was a truly collaborative effort, with our communities and elected members helping shape our long term aims.
More than 1500 people shared their ideas and feedback over two stages of community engagement, and we’re proud that their views are strongly reflected in the plan. You can read the results in the Community Engagement Feedback Report
The new design of the plan demonstrates that our communities are top of mind when setting the direction for our city by featuring photos from Instagram where people have used the hashtag #Onkaparinga. This has resulted in a fantastic mix of people showing why they love living in, working in and visiting Onkaparinga.
We will now start the process of delivering the plan, including connecting it with our other guiding documents, such as the Long Term Financial Plan, Annual Business Plan, strategic plans and asset management plans.
We are excited to deliver this plan and realise its shared vision of strong, vibrant communities.
Regards,
Erin
