Draft Community plan 2030 - seeking your feedback

We estimate that since the community plan review started in July last year, around 1,100* people have had input into where it is today. But we want more!

The draft Community Plan is our lead strategic document that will guide our direction over the coming ten years – with a particular focus on the next four years. It is now out for a final round of consultation (we hope), and we want to hear from the people who will bring it to life – you.

Our aim is to make sure the plan reflects the aspirations of our Elected Members, communities and staff for our city. We have gone through a thorough process to get there, and you can read about it in the Council report here.

The draft plan represents:

  • what community told us through the Really Campaign, including what they love about living here, what they’d like to change, and what they think is priority for Council to deliver.
  • what people see and share about #onkaparinga on Instagram. All the images in the plan were taken by our residents and visitors, showcasing what people love about living, working and playing here.
  • what we propose to focus on to meet the challenges our city is likely to face at a global, national, state and local level – so we can achieve the outcomes that deliver our vision of strong, vibrant communities.
  • What Elected Members have chosen as ‘focus outcomes’ – while we will still deliver on all 16 outcomes, these five will receive extra attention over the next four years

This draft Plan was largely developed before the full impact of COVID-19 was known. Our hope is that by the time it’s launched, we’ll be through the worst of it and ready to focus on what comes next. You can find more information on Council’s response to COVID-19 here.

*6 strategic services teamsters, 13 managers, 15 strategic leaders, 6 testing groups, 1 graphic designer, 2 proofers, 4 DG members, 2 CEOs, 1 engagement advisor, 11 EMs, and 1,042 community members.

We are now seeking feedback on the draft Community Plan 2030.

We want to know - does the plan reflect what we want for our city? Is it easy to understand? How do you see it influencing your work?

Like to get a quick idea of what it’s all about? Check out the ‘Plan on a page’ version here.

Into finding out the detail? Read the full plan here – it’s an easy 16 page read.

Then, share your thoughts via the survey link below by 16 June 2020.

We look forward to hearing your feedback!
