Help shape the Regional Public Health Plan 2020.
Latest Update
From the engagement undertaken in late 2020 four responses were received from community members and health stakeholders.
We are now preparing to send the draft plan to the Chief Public Health Officer (CPHO) for review. This is a requirement of the South Australian Public Health Act 2011.
Once we have received feedback from the CPHO, the engagement report and updated plan will be presented to Council for its consideration. This is likely to occur in April 2020.
Project Information
The health and wellbeing of our community is fundamental to achieving the strong, vibrant communities we strive for.
The South Australian Public Health Act 2011 requires councils to prepare and maintain a regional public health plan and we are now seeking feedback on our draft Plan.
The draft includes:
a demographic snapshot of our city
assessment of key public health issues and challenges facing our city
alignment with the State Public Health Plan 2019-24
our response to addressing public health and wellbeing in our region
a summary of our response to Coronavirus COVID-19 (as an attachment to the plan).
It recognises that improving health and wellbeing across our city underpins our Community Plan 2030, our suite of supporting strategic plans and many of the services, infrastructure and facilities we deliver. As such the draft plan does not propose new actions or initiatives but rather highlights what we are already doing. Its format has been designed to increase its readability and accessibility to our community and other stakeholders.
