Intersection Upgrades - Sunnymeade Drive Aberfoyle Park

WORK IS PROGRESSING

Work is progressing to upgrade the intersections of Sunnymeade Drive/Hub Drive and Sunnymeade Drive/Campus Drive.

During the Christmas period, inclement weather meant work had to cease at times and we now anticipate the upgrade to be completed by around mid-March 2020.

Work has been programmed to reduce community impacts as much as possible and traffic management will be in place.

We are talking with local schools and will ensure appropriate signage is in place to notify commuters prior to major traffic changes.

The upgrades will consist of:

  • New left and right turning lanes at the intersections of Sunnymeade Drive/Hub Drive and Sunnymeade Drive/Campus Drive.
  • Realigning new curbs and footpaths
  • Widening the road
  • Installation of new lighting and removing the old
  • Upgrading the existing crossing to a pedestrian activated crossing
  • Relocating bus stop 48
  • Removing some trees/shrubs to allow for road widening (new trees/shrubs will be planted)
  • Trimming of existing trees/shrubs where required
