Our community leaders discussion forums have closed. We'll come back to you soon with what we heard.

As our city continues to grow, planning for our future is essential!

As we look to the future, having more people living and working within the City of Onkaparinga brings both opportunities and challenges.

The State Planning Commission and the City of Onkaparinga have joined together to deliver the Onkaparinga Local Area Plan (OLAP) which will act as a pilot for metropolitan growth management across South Australia.

We sought feedback from our community leaders on the best ways to accommodate residential and employment growth in our city into the future.

Whilst these discussions have closed, we've left up the welcome and introduction videos for background.

Should we be big or more modest?

Should we be compact or expansive?

Should our housing and employment be diverse or all the same?

Tell us what you hope for the future.

The growth areas discussed in the presentation are -

    • Aldinga
    • Christies Beach & Christie Downs
    • Hackham
    • Noarlunga Centre
    • Sellicks Beach

Which of these growth areas do you see has the most opportunities and should be prioritised, and why?

Which of these growth areas concerns you the most, and why? How might the market change over coming years?

Is there another area you would choose for potential growth, that we haven't mentioned?

What is the most important thing that you feel is important to get right in relation to planning for residential and employment growth in our city in the future?

Here you might think about what infrastructure is needed to support growth, what other infrastructure that would be nice to have such as community centres and sporting facilities. You might also consider why the City of Onkaparinga has been growing at a slower rate than other parts of Greater Adelaide, and whether you think the supply of land and housing has been sufficient or insufficient to meet demand.
