Latest Update

As the next stage of the Master Plan implementation council is now working on delivering much needed upgrades at the Noarlunga United Soccer Club.

This upgrade was identified as a priority project by council in 2019, when the Wilfred Taylor Reserve Master Plan was approved.

The Noarlunga United Soccer Club is a large regional club with junior and senior men’s and women’s teams in both the amateur and state leagues. Participation in soccer is growing both citywide and within the Wilfred Taylor Reserve catchment.

With the support of Nat Cook, Member for Hurtle Vale, the state government is providing $1 million funding towards this project. Council has also agreed to provide additional funding to the project including the application of federal government funding through the Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Phase 4 program.

This additional funding allows to significantly upgrade the soccer facility including the club’s priority projects of four new unisex change rooms, a new access road and car parking and pitch 1 lighting upgrades.

Following consultation with the club, the building design has now been confirmed.

Construction works for the new building is expected to commence in October 2023 following the end of the current soccer season.

Design of the access road and car parks are also progressing with construction work also scheduled to commence later this year.

We are looking forward to providing these much-improved facilities for the soccer players and community as the next part of the Wilfred Taylor Master Plan implementation.
