Multi-use Sports Building Redevelopment Proposal
The Port Noarlunga Sports Ground is used by the Port Noarlunga Football Club, Port Noarlunga Cricket Club, Port Noarlunga Netball Club, Port Noarlunga Tennis Club and the Southern Districts Gridiron Club.
The site facilities are also used by other community groups (surf clubs, fitness clubs) and for community music and social events such as South Coast Raw and the Blues Festival.
The site includes two club buildings as well a public toilet block and separate shelter structures for spectators along the edge of the oval.
Some of these building facilities are reaching the end of their asset life and no longer meet sport or building standards.
Construction of a single, new multi-use building adjacent to the existing building facilities is proposed, with direct frontage to the oval and courts.
Ultimately, our objective is to deliver a single multi-use sports building which services all current sports, and responds to the anticipated sport and recreation needs of the community within this growth area in our City.
Current Project Status: Concept Design
Council has engaged an architectural consultant to develop concept designs for the new multi-use building.
We are currently working closely with sports club representatives to guide the initial development of the design and ensure that it best responds to the needs of different user groups.
The community will also have the opportunity to provide feedback on the design.
More information will be provided via this YourSay page over the next few months.
The FAQ's include further information about the project.
