PROPOSED REVOCATION OF COMMUNITY LAND

In April 2020 we undertook community engagement on the potential revocation of land adjoining Bayliss Road in McLaren Vale.

A total of 17 people visited the Your Say page, with one person providing feedback on the proposal.

A report containing the feedback was presented to Council on 16 June 2020. At the meeting, Council considered the feedback and resolved to continue to proceed with the process to revoke the subject land.

A request will now be forwarded to the Minister for Transport, Infrastructure and Local Government for approval.

Background

We recently sought feedback on the proposed revocation and sale of a parcel of community land, located off Bayliss Road and adjoining Pieces 25 and 26 Tatachilla Road, McLaren Vale.

It was proposed to revoke the classification of community land to enable the sale of the subject surplus land to the adjoining landowners of Pieces 25 and 26 Tatachilla Road, McLaren Vale.

This will recognise that the subject parcel of land has been fenced in with the adjoining land for at least 70 years and is currently planted with rows of vines associated with the vineyard on the adjoining land.

If revocation and disposal is approved, the subject parcel of land will be consolidated with the adjoining land to form one single allotment.
