Revocation of land - Alexander Street Sellicks Beach

Consultation has concluded

Latest Update

In December 2018 we undertook community engagement on the potential revocation of land at 2 Alexander Street, Sellicks Beach.

A total of 23 submissions were received along with a petition containing 242 signatures opposing the proposal to continue with the revocation and disposal of land.

A report containing this feedback was presented to Council on 16 April 2019 and you can view these outcomes and minutes in the document library.

At the meeting, Council resolved to discontinue the process to revoke the subject land.

Background

As part of council's Open Space Strategic Management Plan, we have identified potential land that may not be required for community or open space requirements.

In February we sought feedback from our communities on the potential revocation and sale of land located at 2 Alexander Street, Sellicks Beach.

The subject land (bordered by red in the photo), was initially identified through a thorough analysis of council’s land parcels across the city. Parcels such as this one that are not being used for community or open space purposes, were identified for revocation and sale to ultimately deliver a network of high quality open spaces that meet the future needs of the community.

More detailed information can be found in our document library.

Submissions closed on 21 December 2018.
