What is gravel sheeting and how will it prevent bogging?

    Gravel sheeting is when a new gravel layer is added to the road.  
    There are a number of steps in the gravel sheeting process:
    1. Clearing away any excess vegetation
    2. Tyning (loosening the existing surface)
    3. Preparing the natural material (may include cutting high spots and filing low spots to smooth the base and taking care of any drainage issues)
    4. Mixing with water, shaping the natural material and compacting
    5. Spreading the new gravel
    6. Mixing with water, shaping and compaction

    When will the work commence?

    Work is due to commence in the 2020/21 financial year subject to council budgets and approvals.

    Will footpaths be provided?

    No, footpaths are not included.
