Road Reconstruction - Witton Road Christies Beach

Great news, we're upgrading Witton Road Christies Beach, from Beach Road to Saxton Avenue.

Due to the poor condition of Witton Road, we will be undertaking a road reconstruction and reseal. Witton Road will be closed from late September until mid November (subject to weather) to undertake the road reconstruction and reseal.

The works will include:

  • Full reconstruction of road pavement approximately 80m nearest to Beach Road.
  • Resealing existing road pavement where required.
  • Replacing existing kerb and gutter and kerb ramps where required to meet the relevant standards.
  • Replacing damaged sections of footpath and realigning where required.
  • Reinstatement of all affected driveways and verges upon completion of the works using similar materials to existing.

During this time, the road and bus stops 69 and 69A will be closed with a bus detour in place.

Follow the links to view the concept plan.

Construction will commence in September 2022 with estimated completion in November 2022. Work will generally be undertaken between 7am-5pm Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays.

We will continue to keep the community informed as work progresses.

    Hi,

    Thank you for your question.

Currently there are no planned works for the Witton Road / Beach Road intersection. The resurfacing and reseal works are isolated to Witton Road only.

Our Traffic Engineer has investigated your feedback and has provided the following response:

We agree road safety can be improved at this location and will install a continuity line along the intersection with Beach Road and bring the give way line marking closer to the continuity line to improve the sight line. This work will be undertaken as part of the road reconstruction works, which are expected to start in September 2022.

    Kind Regards

    The your Say Onkaparinga Team
