Thank you to everyone who provided feedback.
During consultation, the Your Say page was visited by 187 people with 15 providing feedback via the online survey. Overall, there was 93% support for the upgrade.
The drop in session held hosted 13 adults and 5 children with some great discussions held during this time.
Here’s what we heard through the consultation and what we are including:
A path linkage to provide a loop for children to ride bikes.
The addition of a netball ring which will be located at the back of the basketball ring.
More lighting: There are already 3 existing lights on the central walkway, these are going to be upgraded to LED globes.
Additional shade: New trees will be planted to provide natural shade for the playground. A shade shelter is also included near the play space.
Unfortunately items such as toilets and a full bike track is outside of the budget and service standards of a local family park.
Construction is expected to commence in late 2022.
Background
Stoneyhill Park located on the corner of Stoneyhill Street and Malbeck Drive in Reynella East has been identified for an upgrade.
A concept plan has been developed that includes new playground equipment, basketball keyway, an irrigation system to provide a kickabout area and tree planting.
The upgrade is expected to be undertaken within the 2022-23 financial year.
We are holding a community drop in session at the park as listed below to provide an opportunity for you to discuss the concept plan, provide any feedback and have any questions that you may have answered.
