UPDATE
This legislated public consultation process under section 200 and 202 of the Local Government Act was undertaken for the proposed long term lease of the Willunga Golf Course Restaurant and Waverly Homestead to a Commercial Operator for the management of a Restaurant and complementary services and closed 6 September 2019.
The operator has recently advised they will not proceed with their proposal to run a restaurant from the Willunga Golf Restaurant and Waverley Homestead. As such we are currently considering other internal management options for the Restaurant which will not result in a lease over Waverley Homestead or a 15 year lease for the Restaurant. The options being considered will aim to ensure services are retained at the restaurant to provide refreshments and food to the Golf Course users.
Thanks for you support during this process.
BACKGROUND
We recently undertook an expression of interest process seeking food and hospitality operators for the Willunga Golf Course. The offer included the golf course restaurant and the historic Waverley Homestead (currently not permanently occupied).
With a successful applicant selected, we are now seeking community feedback on their proposal for up to a 15 year lease and to utilise the homestead for commercial operations.
To allow commercial operations at the homestead, we are required to change the classification from 'Community' to 'commercial' in our Community Land Management Plans.

Submissions received were collated and provided to Council in a report for their determination.
