The Pizzateca Beach activation has been approved by Council.
After consultation with the community, six activation proposals were approved by Council on 17 September.
In total 751 people participated in the surveys and we received strong support for six proposals including the Pizzateca Beach activation.

Background
We recently called for expressions of interest for proposals from interested parties to activate our foreshore and coastal areas for summer 2019-20 and with potential to continue for up to a two (2) year period.
Through the expression of interest process, we received a formal proposal from Pizzateca McLaren Vale to host ‘Pizzateca Beach’ - an outdoor eatery and bar, serving wood oven pizza, gelato and local wine and beer located on the open space, south of Clarrie Eatts Reserve, Aldinga Beach (see the map of the proposed location).
Pizzateca McLaren Vale proposes to operate ‘Pizzateca Beach’ on the following days and times:
Friday 1 November 2019 – Monday 27 January 2020
- Monday – Friday: 4pm-10pm
- Saturday and Sunday: 11am-11pm
Please note, extended trading hours are proposed for Tuesday 31 December 2019 (New Year's Eve) and Sunday 26 January 2020 (Australia Day long weekend).
