Latest update

We are excited to announce that construction has begun on the expansion!

Throughout the construction period the Aberfoyle Community Centre will remain accessible to the community, and the playground in Bob Such Reserve will remain open to the public. Please note, however, that access to the outdoor spaces adjoining the Centre will be restricted for safety reasons. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding as we work to enhance our facility.

Completion of the project is anticipated to occur by late 2024.

Background

The Aberfoyle Community Centre is about to undergo a significant transformation, thanks to the generous support of $1.5 million in funding provided through the support of Erin Thompson, Member for Davenport and the State Government of South Australia. This funding will be used to construct an expansion providing new and exciting opportunities for our community.

The expansion will be located at the rear of the building and includes a new flexible room suitable for dance and ‘messy’ activities, a youth pod and an arts studio space. A centralised outdoor area for informal gathering will also be created. These new spaces will be tailored for a wide range of programs, such as arts, crafts, dance, exhibitions, social activities, and youth and family programs.

The existing playground in Bob Such Reserve will remain.

You can view the site plan and floor plan for more detail. You can also view the 3D representations of the new space. More information is available in the FAQs.
