Clarendon Community Garden gets green light!
We are excited to share with you the community garden has been given the go ahead.
Lease negotiations are in the process and should be finalised soon.
Thank you to the Clarendon Community Garden Group for bringing this proposal to fruition
Background
We have received a proposal from a group of Clarendon residents to establish a community garden at the Hazel McKenzie Hall, Harper Road Clarendon.
With support from the Over 50's Club and the Clarendon Community Association, the group's vision is to create an inclusive space where the local community can connect through the enjoyment of gardening, organic food production and consumption, learn new skills, connect with nature and improve local biodiversity and food security.
We're now seeking feedback on the community garden proposal and council entering into an initial 5-year lease over the land that will be held by the Clarendon Community Association.
Find out more by viewing the Proposed community garden location and the Frequently Asked Questions and then share your thoughts.
