Demolition completed

26 February 2025

The Pedler Creek Bridge renewal project on the Coast to Vines Trail is progressing smoothly and remains on track.

Recent progress:

  • Demolition completed: The existing bridge deck and hand railing have been fully removed.
  • Structural installation: The new hot-dipped galvanized steel subframe has been successfully installed.

Next steps:

  • This week, the subframe will be securely bolted to the preexisting bridge superstructure.
  • Installation of new hardwood decking and cycle-safe hand railing will begin.
  • Final works include blending the existing bitumen trail with the new bridge deck and installing concrete beams to support the transition.

Full closure – No access across the bridge during construction.

The bridge is scheduled to reopen early March 2025, with no formal detour provided during the closure for safety reasons. Trail users are encouraged to plan alternative routes using resources such as the Council’s website and apps like AllTrails .

We appreciate your patience while we complete these vital works.
