This project is not open for feedback. We’re simply informing the community about the upcoming works.
We’re committed to maintaining, operating, and renewing our paths and trails to ensure they meet the community’s needs. This project has been identified through inspections and a network-wide path condition audit.
This project aims to address the condition of the existing path between Bains Road and Wheatsheaf Road, ensuring it remains safe and accessible for the community. Given its role as a key route providing access to schools, as well as being an important tourist trail for walking, cycling and horse-riding enthusiasts, the renewal will enhance access and improve overall trail connectivity.
The works are scheduled for the 2025–26 financial year, subject to budget approval, and include:
- Renewal of the shared use path between Bains Road and Wheatsheaf Road, 1075m in length and 3m width.
- A further 75m length and 3m wide section between the two bridges in the playground/picnic area of asphalt to be hand laid, due to access issues over the bridges.
- Construction of a rubble access path across the creek to enable the renewal of the small hand laid area between the two bridges.
- Line marking to complete the like for like renewal.
- Tree pruning or removal may occur prior to construction if required.
Temporary trail closures are necessary during the works; however, signage will be in place to inform users to use alternative safe crossing locations. We will keep you updated about specific timings and details during the works via this page.
