In 2025, Council started a process to consider selling this land on the open market. During community engagement, nearby residents shared concerns about possible increases in traffic and the impact of future housing development on the local area. After listening to this feedback, Council decided not to continue with the process at that time.

In January 2026, the neighbouring landowner, Woodcroft Living Choice Retirement Village, approached Council with a new idea to purchase the land for community recreational use. The retirement village currently has limited green space and outdoor communal areas. Their proposal aims to create a shared recreational space that supports wellbeing and encourages social connection beyond their existing community centre.

The draft concept plan includes pickleball courts, a workshop space, landscaping and a pedestrian link to the retirement village. It's proposed the space could also be used by neighbouring residents.

If the revocation and potential sale go ahead, Living Choice would continue to work with Council and the local community to help shape a space that benefits everyone.

On 19 May 2026, Council considered this proposal and approved the first step of the revocation process, community engagement.
