Engagement outcomes

Thanks to everyone who provided feedback.

Throughout the consultation we had over 280 visitors to the Your Say page. Through the online survey and drop-in session, plus additional correspondence received, a total of 53 people shared their thoughts on the draft concept plan.

We were pleased to see a high level of support for the project with 15 out of 17 participants of the online survey saying they strongly support/support the concept plan. In addition, 12 out of 14 people who completed the quick survey advised that the draft concept plan looked great and there was no need to leave feedback.

We received and reviewed various requests for additions not included in the draft concept plan, however due to budget constraints, these additions will not be included.

We will share an updated concept plan in a few months time. Construction for this project is scheduled to take place during the 2025-26 financial year.

Background information

The project will repurpose the long standing hard courts and create recreational opportunities by incorporating a brand new learn to ride bike track, a variety of pavement games and reverting some of the area to irrigated turf.

Two southern hard courts are being retained as community courts which were recently recoated in May this year (2024) incorporating some additional line marking for tennis, netball, pickleball and hot shots.

We would like to acknowledge that these courts were previously home to the former Hackham Tennis Club who occupied the site since approximately 1980. The club folded in 2022 after almost 50 years of successful history of competition and social tennis.
