November 2025 update

Construction almost complete

We know the new Greengate Grove playground looks finished, but it’s not quite ready to open yet. Construction began in mid-September and is now almost complete, but the fencing needs to stay up a little longer while an external safety audit is completed and the new hydroseeded grass has time to establish.

The playground is expected to open in early December 2025.

Thank you for your patience — it won’t be long until the playground is ready for everyone to enjoy!

Background information

Greengate Park in Hackham has been identified for an upgrade. We previously sought feedback from the community on the draft concept plan.

The final concept plan includes:

• triple swing set
• wheelchair carousel
• slide
• bouldering apostle
• monkey bars, which double as static fitness equipment
• exercise markings added to the asphalt loop around the playground.
• futsal goal
• Picnic shelter and setting.
