Exciting news! We’re improving Hastings Reserve, Sellicks Beach

Hasting Avenue reserve, Sellicks Beach is identified in the Open Space Strategic Management Plan 2018-23 (OSSMP) as a District Family Park. Given the anticipated future growth of the Sellicks Beach area we have planned for a stage upgrade approach to ensure that the park meets current needs. With the second stage of the upgrade to be determined by the future changing needs of the Sellicks Beach area.

We have secured $400,000 to complete stage one of the upgrade which will be funded through the Local Roads and Community Infrastructure (LRCI) Program round 2. The Australian Government has committed $500 million to the LRCI Program to support jobs and businesses from the impacts of COVID-19 and is due for completion by December 2021.

Stage one of the upgrade will include an updated district park level playground with aspects of shade, nature play elements, upgraded BMX track, shelter with a picnic setting, rejuvenated basketball keyway with hopscotch for multi-use, upgraded landscaping, irrigated kickabout area and new pathway network.

Stage two which is subject to additional future funding and further engagement may include items such as possible upgrades to skate facilities, installation of a public toilet if demand is shown and additional landscaping surrounding the reserve.
