Project update August 2025
Work will soon begin at Timothy Reserve.
Contractors will begin work at Timothy Reserve in Morphett Vale from 18 August 2025. Work will begin with planting and removal of the playground equipment and courts. Refurbishment of the picnic shelter and table setting along with installation of the new sitting logs and boulders will take place later in the year.
Completion of the project is dependent on the availability of some items however it is anticipated all work will be completed by the end of the year.
Access to the site will remain open to the public with some temporary restrictions in place around areas where contractors are working. The public toilets will remain available throughout the works.
We are currently working with contractors to schedule the renewal of the playground and upgrade to the park at Marita St (Emu Park).
Timothy Reserve upgrade
Timothy Reserve, on the Coast to Vines and Christie Creek trails located approximately 300m from Emu Park on Marita Street, will be designed as a resting spot for those travelling through on the Coast to Vines and the Christie Creek Linear Park trails.
The playground equipment and courts will be removed, the picnic shelter and seating will be renewed and new sitting logs and boulders will be installed. There will also be new planting in the area.

Emu Park upgrade
Nearby Emu Park on Marita Street, will be upgraded to include new playground equipment and other exciting new elements including a slide and nest swing, a multi-use court with basketball, netball and four square, new shelter and picnic setting.
Following community engagement on the draft concept plan, the following changes to the design for Emu Park were made:
- addition of toddler swing
- addition of emu rocker
- improved accessibility to basket swing.
To allow room in the budget for the above changes, the Emu play sculpture was removed from the design.
The play equipment has been moved out from under the existing tree canopy and will have shade in the future as the new trees grow. Click here to view the final concept plan for Emu Park.
