A new wetland is going to be constructed in the Onkaparinga River Recreation Park near Pingle Farm Track.

A wetland is being delivered through a tri-party agreement between the Department for Environment and Water, the Hickinbotham group and City of Onkaparinga. URPS have been engaged to lead community and stakeholder engagement.

Healthy wetlands act as filtering systems, removing sediment, nutrients and pollutants from water.

The wetland will be fully accessible to the public and will include walking paths, boardwalks, lookout points and seating.

The draft concept design has already been consulted on with stakeholders, which has refined and improved the design you see today.

The project partners are now reviewing feedback from the engagement to understand from the community any local information or potential issues to be aware of before finalising the design.
