Latest Update

Maintenance works have been completed and the jetty is open for public use.

Background

We are undertaking important maintenance work on the Port Noarlunga Jetty.

The jetty is now closed to the public to allow the work to be undertaken safely. The jetty will remain closed for approximately six to eight weeks. This timeframe will depend on favourable weather conditions and the closure may need to be extended.

We are aware this will cause disruption and inconvenience and have attempted to minimise this by scheduling the work to occur outside of the busy summer period and following the Easter long weekend.

The maintenance work includes;

  • Replacing deteriorated timber decking within the first section of the jetty closest to the shoreline.
  • We will be utilising a combination of new timber and existing boards to repair the defective ones.
  • Repair works on corroded or damaged handrails.
  • Structural repairs to an existing jetty pile located adjacent to the central water access stairs.

The works will require removal of the jetty handrails and kickboards for the duration of the project while the decking boards are replaced. This creates an unsafe environment preventing us from opening the jetty to the public during the works.
