Have Your Say on the Port Stanvac Mixed Use Code Amendment

This Code Amendment proposes to rezone the former ExxonMobil Port Stanvac refinery to enable the development of a master planned, mixed-use precinct.

🔹 Please note: This consultation is being run by URPS on behalf of the designated entity MAB Property Development Pty Ltd — not the City of Onkaparinga — but we’re sharing the opportunity because the proposed changes will directly impact the communities within the council area.

Overview

This Code Amendment relates to the former ExxonMobil Port Stanvac refinery located at Lot 66 Sullivan Terrace and Lot 112 Refinery Road, Lonsdale (the Affected Area), which ceased operations in 2003.

The Greater Adelaide Regional Plan (GARP) identifies Port Stanvac by designating it as a State Significant Infill Area (Urban Renewal Area).

MAB Property Development (MAB / the Proponent) plans to remediate and develop this 230-hectare site into a mixed-use precinct for housing, retail / commercial and employment / innovation uses - the development is expected to deliver approximately 3,600 homes and 60 hectares of employment land.

A coastal reserve will provide responsible public access to the coast to ensure the area’s biodiversity remains protected together with completing a missing link in the South Australian metropolitan Coast Park path.
