Community engagement outcomes

Thanks to everyone who provided feedback.

We had 166 visitors to the Your Say page and received feedback from 41 community members through the online survey, online quick poll, on site drop in session and email.

What we heard:

  • 81% of people who provided feedback online indicated they were happy with the proposed design.
  • Most liked features included the picnic shelter, new drinking fountain with dog bowl, and the renewed basketball keyway surface.
  • The cricket pitch is used regularly, and we should keep that part of the reserve as a pitch.

We received a range of suggestions for additional equipment. Some of the elements suggested are outside the service standard for this park (e.g. lighting, BBQ).

What’s next:

In response to the community feedback we will explore the below possible changes to the concept design, subject to budget:

  1. Check where the new trees will be planted near the cricket pitch to make sure they won’t interfere with using the pitch.
  2. Look into options for adding more play equipment to the playground within the project budget.

The design is now being reviewed and we’ll share an updated concept plan in early 2026.

The renewal is expected to be undertaken within the 2026-27 financial year, subject to approval through council's annual budget process.
