We are upgrading the section of Old Coach Road between and including Oleander Road and Tuit Road, Maslin Beach.

Road closure recommencing 1 July to 4 July

The City of Onkaparinga will recommence a full road closure of Old Coach Road Maslin Beach from Monday 1 July to Thursday 4 July for rain-delayed road resurfacing works.

The road closure is for day works only from 7:00am – 6:00pm and the road will be re-opened to through traffic with safety restrictions in place outside of these hours.

Traffic will be detoured onto Main South Road via Port Road, Aldinga & Maslin Beach Road at Maslins Beach.

We apologise for the short notice and appreciate your understanding.

Construction timing

The Old Coach Road repairs were planned over 3 years ago due to its poor condition, predating the state government’s

announcement about the Main South Road works.

Serving as a detour during these works intensified the urgency for council’s Old Coach Road repairs once Main South Road reopened.

We're in frequent communication with Fleurieu Connections Alliance (FCA) and the Department for Infrastructure and Transport (DIT) to minimise disruptions and keep the community informed.

Construction is scheduled to be completed late July 2024.

Scope of works

The scope of works include:

  • reconstruction of the road between Oleander Road and Tuit Road
  • installation of stormwater infrastructure
  • minor road widening in nominated locations
  • vehicle safety improvements including line marking, indented bus bays and guardrails.
