July Update

Great news, the plans have been finalised and construction has begun!

Following consultation earlier in the year the following items were added to the plans for the Serpentine Reserve sport and recreation facility upgrades:

  • Netball ring and post added to the half court basketball area
  • Additional picnic table and bench seats added under the existing picnic shelter (near the cricket ground carpark).
  • One set of football posts (2x6m high goal posts and 2x3m high point posts) at the northern end of the oval.
  • A Bring Your Own Bottle (BYOB) drinking fountain (subject to review with SA Water).

We are also progressing a request to install a post near the rubble carpark (near the sports oval) for dog bin bags.

Upgrade works have begun including the following:

  • New concrete half basketball/ netball court constructed and is open for public use. The final green acrylic surface and court linemarking will be completed after September 2023 when temperature/ weather conditions are suitable.
  • Three solar lights in the cricket rubble carpark have been installed and are operational.
  • New picnic shelter near the playground has been installed.
  • Playground shade cover poles have delivered onsite and post holes excavated.

Over the next couple of months works to be completed include installation of picnic tables and benches under the shelters, new cricket nets and playground shade poles when weather allows.
