Project update September 2024

The council design and project team has been working with the Thalassa Park and Gardens Trust over the past 12 months to ensure the requirements for the revised master plan meet the Trust’s timeframe and budget planning. Discussions are continuing and we will seek community and stakeholder feedback on the draft master plan once available.

Background

We are developing a master plan for Thalassa Park and need your feedback to help shape it. The master plan will guide the future development of the park. We have been working with the Thalassa Parks & Garden Trust and are now seeking community feedback.

Sitting atop rolling green hills, Thalassa Park and Gardens boasts a unique history. The park has a lot to offer and can also be hired for weddings and other celebrations. Some of the parks features include barbeques, tables, seating, shelters, toilets, accessibility amenities and facilities, bike/walking trails a playground.

It is also the home to Storybook Walk - a sculpture park that aims to raise the profile of and celebrate Australian writers and poets and their works, by bringing characters from some of the best-loved children's books to life.
