We are delighted to share that the reserve is now open to the community! However, please be aware that there is currently a fence around the slide area. Rest assured, we are actively working to resolve this matter as quickly as possible. The upgrade consists of a variety of new play equipment, basketball key way, sandpit with sand digger, zipline, drinking fountain, shelter with picnic table and new tree planting.
Thanks to everyone who provided feedback!
During the consultation, 151 people visited the Your Say page and 25 people provided feedback via the online survey. In addition approximately 23 residents attended the on site drop in session.
You told us that the park is currently used mostly for the playground, for exercise, dog exercise and to rest and relax.
We have now finalised the design for the park and prioritised the additional factors requested from the local community.
Here’s what we heard through the consultation that we are either already incorporating or now considering (pending budget):
- Changes to the playground equipment including removal of the song gongs
- Additional tree planting
- Repositioning the gum leaf pod playhouse so that it is further away from houses
- Dog bowl on the drinking fountain.
Here’s what was requested, but will not be included as they are outside of the service standard for a local family park:
- Public toilet
- Bike track
- Fenced off playground or dog area.
