We’re looking to increase natural water flow in the Willunga Creek and reducing flooding

The original Willunga Creek alignment through the township was significantly modified many years ago. Water now flows down Methodist Street, Giles Road and Norman Road.

Willunga Creek is one of only two perennial creeks in our council area, with water flowing year-round from natural springs.

Our first step is to speak with affected property owners to capture their feedback and/or local knowledge. We'll also undertake detailed site surveys and advanced flood modelling to better understand the impact of increased flows and confirm what works are needed to reduce potential flooding in Willunga.

Once we have this information, we'll be able to develop a concept design where we will again speak with affected property owners, before sharing the design with the wider Willunga community.

If you have information that could assist us with the design, please share it below.
