Engagement is how the council involves the community in decisions that affect them.
Through our engagement activities, we aim to reach the community to share clear, balanced information and to provide genuine opportunities for people to have their say, through various channels and platforms.
Now we’re asking: is there is a better way? How would you like to have your say and get involved?
Why is council reviewing its approach now?
Recent changes through the new Community Engagement Charter mean that South Australian councils are required to adopt a Community Engagement Policy by 11 September 2026.
The development of the new policy provides the chance to improve the ways we engage with the community. It will replace the council’s current Public Consultation Procedure.
You can view and download the draft Community Engagement Policy under the Documents section.
