A final concept plan has now been developed
A community engagement session was held on site on Thursday 27 November 2025, and the feedback gathered has directly informed the final design. The session was well attended, with strong support from the riding community. The key message was clear, the altered dirt jumps must cater for all abilities, from beginners to advanced riders, while supporting progression and skill development.
A final concept plan has now been developed reflecting this feedback. Our aim is to deliver a high quality, progressive riding experience that is practical to maintain and achievable within budget.
The design has been developed in collaboration with TrailScapes, specialist trail builder.
Scope of work
The upgrades will remain within the existing site footprint and include:
- Reshaping the pump track to improve flow and usability.
- A new intermediate to semi-advanced jump line featuring wedge-style jumps with multiple line options and a progressive layout.
- Increased spacing and approach speed to better support larger jumps and improve flow.
- Reshaping of the western berm and return rollers to enhance speed, momentum, and overall ride experience.
The upgraded design will cater to beginner, intermediate and advanced riders, providing a refreshed and progressive facility for the whole community.
Update on delivery and opening event
Following the recent discovery of asbestos at the Serpentine Reserve BMX dirt jump site, we have revised our risk assessment and approach for works at the Seaford Quarry.
To ensure safety and compliance, the dirt jumps will now be built entirely by the appointed contractor without inclusion of a Community Dig Day. However, we will be pleased to invite the community at an opening day event, once the contractor works are complete.
Council will undertake comprehensive site assessments, independent environmental inspections, and final safety checks to ensure any asbestos risks are appropriately managed and the BMX dirt jump sites are safe for community use.
A community opening event will be held during the April school holidays to celebrate the upgraded dirt jumps. More details will be shared closer to the date.
