Project update - January 2025

Exciting news! Construction of the Esplanade playground upgrade is scheduled to start in mid February 2025. Works will be undertaken between 7am-5pm Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays.

It is estimated that construction will be completed during May 2025.

Background

Exciting news! The playground at the reserve on the Esplanade (adjacent Wembley Street), Port Noarlunga South has been identified for an upgrade.

We have developed a draft concept plan that includes new tree planting, an extended irrigated turf area, new playground fencing, new coastal themed playspace, additional seating and permanent umbrellas. Recognised as a Local Family Park in the Open Space Strategic Management Plan 2018-23, these upgrades aim to elevate your park enjoyment.

Engagement on the draft concept plan was undertaken in October 2023.

The upgrade is expected to be undertaken within the 2024-25 financial year subject to approval through the City of Onkaparinga’s annual budget process.
