Voting is now open

Following on from the first stage of the engagement where we asked the community to suggest names for the park, we have reviewed the name suggestions against the Road and Place Naming Policy and have shortlisted four potential names.

This second stage of engagement is for the community to vote for one of the four shortlisted names.

  • Seaford and Districts Lions Park - in recognition of the ongoing contributions of a local service club in the area
  • Little Rincon Park - Little Rincon is the name of the local surf break located adjacent to this park
  • Little Captains Park - reflects the nautical theme of the park with the play equipment including a boat
  • Tiny Treasures Park - reflects the nautical theme of the park and the smaller children who will use the park.

While we received a number of suggestions to apply a Kaurna name to this park, we have been unable to identify the traditional Kaurna name for the area. In line with our Road and Place Naming Policy (Section 7.3) we will apply a European name to this park until the traditional Kaurna name for the area can be found.

A full list of the name suggestions can be found with the engagement outcomes from stage one.

Voting is open to all registered Your Say members, and each registered member can vote once. Voting will be open until Sunday 10 August 2025.

The outcomes from your votes will be presented to Council later in the year, to help them decide on the final name for the park.
