to Your Say Onkaparinga page during the engagement period

  • 32 unique name submissions

from the 36 submissions to the online feedback tools and 1 submission via phone.

The first stage of engagement is where we asked for name suggestions from the community to formally name the park located on the Esplanade at Port Noarlunga South (near Wembley Street).

Throughout the Stage 1 engagement period there were 319 visitors to the Your Say page. In total 36 posts suggesting names were made by 34 different contributors. There were also 7 comments made on the posts and 64 likes (upvotes) on these submissions. There was also one name submission made by phone call.

  • Of the 36 name submissions made online, 19 (53 per cent) were from residents of Port Noarlunga South and 5 (14 per cent) were from Port Noarlunga.
  • Several of the submissions suggested multiple names within the one submission.
  • Some of the names suggested were duplicates of submissions made by other contributors.

A total of 32 unique name suggestions were made.

The full list of suggested names was then reviewed against the Road and Place Naming Policy and a shortlist of four potential names were selected to progress to the next stage of community engagement.

The four shortlisted names are:

  • Seaford and Districts Lions Park
  • Little Rincon Park
  • Little Captains Park
  • Tiny Treasures Park
