Heritage significance
The c.1850 residence at 24 Chalk Hill Road, Clarendon is of significance as an early, notable, well-sited dwelling that strongly contributes to the scenic Clarendon valley vista.
Despite later alterations and additions, the core early fabric remains evident and representative of a distinctive type of construction (two-storey masonry residence partially excavated into the valley hillside) for the township. The residence is also of significance as the home of the Chapman family, significant early local residents in the Clarendon district.
Extent of listing
The form and materials of early masonry fabric, including c.1850 walls, window and door openings and existing early chimney structures. All early window and door fittings are also included in the listing. The roof profile and early structure are of significance and are included in the listing.

Heritage significance
The former cottage at 13 St Ninians Road, Clarendon is of significance as a well-constructed Victorian Regency dwelling dating to the initial development of the township of Clarendon, in the mid-19th century. The former cottage is strongly associated with the Paddick family, prominent local citizens and early settlers for the township who are responsible for constructing the residence.

The form and materials of the early c.1850s dwelling, including all masonry walls, window and door openings and remaining brick chimneys. Early surviving timber door and window fittings are included in the listing.
