Refurbishment progress and project expansion

18 November 2025

The major refurbishment of the Noarlunga Aquatic Centre is making great progress, with demolition complete, new roof installation underway and upgrades to pool systems and facilities in full swing.

Originally focused on essential renewal, the project has now expanded to include exciting new sustainability and amenity features — thanks to a competitive tender price and additional funding.

What’s new:

  • Electrified pool heating and water systems replacing gas to reduce emissions.
  • Double-glazed windows, upgraded insulation and improved energy efficiency.
  • Refurbished spa and sauna, new first aid room, upgraded Wi-Fi and refreshed café area.
  • New furniture, lane ropes, signage and landscaping.
  • Grant application submitted for a new outdoor splash pad to enhance family appeal.

These additions will create a modern, sustainable and welcoming facility that is ready to meet community needs for decades to come.

To accommodate this expanded scope, the reopening is now expected at the beginning of summer 2026–27.

This upgrade isn’t just about refurbishment of the facility, —it’s about creating a future-ready aquatic centre that supports healthy lifestyles, reduces emissions, and provides a space our community can be proud of.

These upgrades will ensure the Noarlunga Aquatic Centre remains a modern, sustainable and much-loved facility for our community to enjoy for many years to come.

This project is jointly funded by Council and a Thriving Suburbs Grant from the Australian Government.
