Latest update

We wish to acknowledge that as part of the public consultation process for the proposed revocation of this land, we have received considerable feedback and thank respondents for their submissions. The next step involves a report summarising the submissions received being presented to Council to determine if the revocation proposal should proceed to the next step.

Please note however that we are currently reviewing our approach to the revocation process and Council will consider this work and its policy position. Once that work is complete, we will advise the community and subsequently proceed to consider the community feedback. Until that time, the revocation of this site will not be progressed.

BACKGROUND

The City of Onkaparinga has recently approved the commencement of a revocation process for a portion of council-owned reserve land at 23 Highwray Drive, Morphett Vale. The land contains the former Morphett Vale kindergarten building.

The area of the subject land is marked in red on the Land Portion location map and measures approximately 2,000 square metres in total.

It is proposed to revoke the classification of community land to enable the sale of the subject surplus land on the open market.

The options are as follows:

  1. as a single allotment, with the building to remain
  2. removal of the building and the further subdivision of the subject land to enable sale as a number of vacant allotments
  3. removal of the building and the further subdivision of the subject land to enable development and sale as a number of properties with built form
