Have your say on the draft Sellicks Beach Structure Plan

The draft Sellicks Beach Structure Plan is a strategic land use plan that establishes a set of objectives and principles for the future spatial arrangement for Sellicks Beach.

The Structure Plan assists in identifying key infrastructure priorities and how their delivery can unlock and coordinate development opportunities and to ensure that any future development at Sellicks Beach is well-serviced and proceeds as an orderly extension of the existing urban area.

A Structure Plan is not a rezoning process, nor does it infer support of rezoning or address individual development proposals. However, once finalised, the Structure Plan will be used by Council to make decisions that promote good community and environmental outcomes and positively shape the urban form.

Consultation is open until 21 February 2021.

Why is a Structure Plan being prepared?

The State Government identifies Sellicks Beach as ‘planned urban lands’ in its 30-Year Plan for Greater Adelaide.

The final step of the state-wide planning reforms is the commencement of the Planning and Design Code in 2021. The Code will introduce a new set of zones and policies for Sellicks Beach and a new process for rezoning.

The Sellicks Beach Structure Plan will ensure we have a strong position, backed by the community and technical investigations, to respond to any rezoning applications that may be lodged.

Rescheduled Community Information Sessions

We are pleased to advise we have rescheduled the community information sessions and extended the consultation period, following the unfortunate cancellation of the two community information sessions because of the COVID-19 lockdown. You will appreciate that at that time, our key focus was ensuring community and staff safety.

The following dates are scheduled for the community information sessions. You will be required to register due to COVID-19 public meeting restrictions and the limitation on group numbers able to be accommodated in the Sellicks Beach Community Hall.

  • Rescheduled community information session: Thursday 4 February 2021, 7-9pm
  • Rescheduled community information session: Tuesday 9 February 2021, 7-9pm
  • Rescheduled community information session: Thursday 11 February 2021 10am – 12pm

Please contact us on 8384 0546 or developmentpolicy@onkaparinga.sa.gov.au to register with your name, phone number and email address to allow us to confirm your booking with you.
