Engagement outcomes

4 April 2024

Throughout the consultation 105 people visited the Your Say page and 23 people provided feedback via the online survey or another method. Seventeen of the people who provided feedback through the survey live on Mount Malvern Road or a road immediately adjacent to Mount Malvern Road.

Location 1 - There was mixed support for the proposed change to the intersection of Mount Malvern Road, Scenic Court and Gulfview Drive (location 1), with 35 per cent each in support and neutral, and 30 per cent not in support.

Comments received indicated concern that removing the device at this location would result in faster speeds through the intersection.

Location 2 - Fifty five per cent of people were in support of the change to the existing device on Mount Malvern Road north of Belvedere Court (location 2), whilst fifteen per cent did not support, and 30 per cent were neutral.

Requests were received as part of the feedback to improve linemarking at this location.

Location 3 - Forty per cent of people were in support and the same number were not in support of the proposed new device on Mount Malvern Road, south of Corella Avenue (location 3), with the remaining 20 per cent neutral.

Feedback received raised concerns from residents that the introduction of a new device would introduce drainage and driveway access issues. Other feedback reported that a device was not necessary at this location and it would make it too challenging for heavy vehicles to travel southbound.

With the consultation results and comments in mind, the concept plan is now being updated to:

  • modify the location 1 device and amend the design to make the speed reduction more effective
  • retain the location 2 device as per the design with some minor linemarking improvements
  • remove the location 3 device.

The updated concept plan will be shared when available.
