Council to consider next steps at the September 2023 council meeting.

Following the authorisation granted for the project under Section 23 of the Aboriginal Heritage Act 1988 (SA) Council wrote to the Minister for Planning seeking additional funding to fully cover the cost increases that have occurred over the past two years while council has been waiting for state government review and approvals.

The Minister for Planning recently responded with an offer to provide an additional $700,000 or 50% of the projected cost increase.

A report will be presented to Council’s September meeting for Council to consider this offer and next steps for the project.
