We asked the community to share their thoughts on the draft Bains Road concept plan through an online survey.

In response to the community feedback, we plan to proceed with the road reconstruction. The concept plan will be delivered in its current format with no significant changes. Construction has now commenced.

During engagement the community raised additional elements they hoped could be included. In response to these requests we note that:

Renewal of the footpath on the southern side of Bains Road and addition of footpath outside of the concept plan area.

Due to budget restrictions, we will not be extending the footpath beyond the current concept plan or renewing the footpath on the southern side of Bains Road.

Parking on the northern side to accommodate recreation park users.

Parking on the northern side as requested will not be included into the final design as the carriage width is not supportive for parking. There is a Council owned unsealed carpark and other designated parking as you enter Investigator Drive that can be utilised for recreational use.

Inclusion of recycled materials in the project.

We strive to utilise recycled materials wherever possible. This is a work in progress with our sealed road reconstructions, with majority of our recycled products being utilised within our unsealed road network.
