Construction update – October 2025

We’re making steady progress on the Murray Road reconstruction, with around 60% of the works now complete.

So far, the team has delivered significant drainage upgrades and started preparing the ground for new footpaths. Subcontractors have also commenced work on concreting and irrigation.

Like many construction projects, we’ve encountered some design conflicts and weather delays, but crews have continued to push ahead where possible.

What’s next

  • Ongoing footpath and streetscape works
  • Continued drainage and irrigation installation
  • Final surface works

We’re currently targeting project completion in early January 2026, subject to weather and contractor availability.

Thanks for your patience while we deliver this important upgrade. We’ll continue to keep you informed as works progress.

This is a plan to improve Murray Road in Port Noarlunga.

Here’s what is changing:

  • A new footpath will be built on the southern side of the road.
  • There is already a footpath on the northern side, so there will be a footpath on both sides.
  • Stormwater drains will be upgraded to help manage rainwater.
  • Kerb ramps will be added to make it easier for people using wheelchairs, prams or walkers.
  • Rain gardens and trees will be planted along the road.
  • Parking bays will be built.
    – There will be 39 parking spaces in total.
7 on the north side and 32 on the south side.
  • Some areas will be marked as no stopping zones to help traffic flow safely.
  • Better lighting will be added to make the road safer at night.
  • Safe crossing areas will be built at the Witton Road end.

Some of the footpaths and kerbs that are already in good condition will stay the same.

This plan is part of making the street safer and easier for everyone to use.
