We are pleased to announce that the design is now complete and the project is being tendered.

A consultancy team with experience in theatre projects has been engaged to design the upgrades and technological improvements.

Construction & Facility Closure

Construction of the Hopgood Theatre refurbishment will be delivered through two project phases. The first phase is the renewal of the building’s roof sheeting by TAFE SA, and the second phase is the internal upgrades overseen by Council.

For safety reasons, the facility will be closed for the duration of all construction activities.

The theatre is now closed and will remain so until late 2025, while this important work happens.

The total closure period will be determined following the outcomes of the tender process.
